Our roundtable sessions offer a chance to dive into a topic with an expert presenter, or team of presenters. They provide an opportunity to dig deeply into a particular topic during a 90 to 120-minute presentation.
Description
Counselor educators and supervisors have frequently used movies in their teaching to help counselors grasp and apply various counseling concepts. Attendees in this 2-hour TCR roundtable webinar will collaboratively and interactively examine and analyze the movie, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, through the lens of intergenerational family counseling. The learning objectives are as follows.
Identify basic family systems concepts
Discuss intergenerational family counseling concepts and tenets
Discuss cultural and other contextual variables relevant to understanding the main characters in the movie
Conceptualize the developmental, intrapersonal, and interpersonal experiences of the main character in the movie based on intergenerational family counseling constructs and tenets
Develop counseling interventions based on intergenerational family counseling approach
The expectation is that attendees have viewed Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings prior to the webinar (available for streaming online on websites such as Disney+ and Amazon).
